I was first exposed to the world of Internet marketing back in the late 90’s. I’m talking about real marketing done on the Internet, not selling an eBook filled with affiliate links that are sure to spam your inbox as soon as you bite and give them your address. No, I mean real marketing techniques taken online.
Since the late 90’s, a lot has changed. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is no longer on prime time (shame) and this company with a funny name (Google I think it’s called) has taken over the industry. Sorry Netscape.
One thing that hasn’t changed is the application of solid business practices done online. Sure, you can make money quicker than ever online. You can throw up a webpage and if done correctly, people may flock to your product or service, but you won’t last and this certainly isn’t the norm.
Most of us, business owners and entrepreneurs, know that it takes hard work – smart work, but also hard work, to sustain a business. The get rich quick schemes sold on late night infomercials or in the Warrior Forum only get the person selling the scheme rich.
This is where we come in (no sales pitch, just some background). We work with businesses to help them take their marketing online and drive traffic to their sales funnel. Of course, it’s no real surprise that most business owners don’t really know their sales funnel at all, so we help with that as well. Over the past decade, our Internet consulting business had grown and morphed tremendously. We called it Doug Holt Online simply because we got 100% of our business from referrals – current clients, past clients, and web design agencies who had heard of me personally somehow. To that, we still say thank you! But it’s time for us to split off from our past. We have a waiting list of clients wanting our help, which is flattering, but also stressful. It’s no longer about me. It’s about us.
So, with that said, we’re changing our name. It wasn’t ever about me. I’m just a guy who has a passion for helping people, happens to love entrepreneurship, personal development, and business. We now have a whole team who shares my passion and my vision to help businesses, and their leaders, grow.
We do this both online and offline.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be rebranding ourselves in order to extend our reach. Holding true to our vision and mission of helping people get the most out of their business and their lives – breaking through barriers that they may have previously seemed impossible. We’re using the Internet as our vehicle to help and I’m going to us this blog to share our journey.
