TeamworkPM

TeamworkPM is an online project manager that provides a simple way to manage individual and team projects. Using TeamworkPM allows yourself as well as your team to know the task that have to be done, when they need to be done by, and who needs to be doing it. This also allows a company’s clients to keep up to date with the work a company is doing for them without bugging your workers. Can be used on androids, windows, and all Mac products, TeamworkPM is an easily accessible todo list, time-management system, and source to determine where your company stands and make decisions accordingly.

I use TeamworkPM to manage both my personal and business life. My team tracks what they’re doing, what needs to be done, and their time. We create milestones and share information through “the PM” as we call it in our offi ce. I’ve tried a lot of project management software in my time, but I’ve stuck with TeamworkPM for internal use. I don’t like it for clients, and for that, we use Basecamp, but I love the reporting and the ability to quickly set repeatable tasks.

Pro Tip: You get busy, so set yourself up for success. Set up repeatable tasks that help you remember to send a loved one a card, or to get your workout in, or even to go back to DougHoltOnline.com to see if there are any new posts. Dumping your thoughts and ideas into TeamworkPM is easy, and once you develop that idea, you can delegate it out while you’re playing at the beach.

Costs: Free for first two projects

BaseCamp

Basecamp is a center for communication and project management. It enables multiple members of a business to easily work together, share fi les, have discussions, assign tasks, and check due dates. It’s great because it can be accessed by anyone in your company from any computer with the right login information!

I use Basecamp to communicate with clients. I love the daily summary so I can stay on top of what’s happening and ensure my clients are getting the best service possible. I also use Basecamp with my team to share ideas, thoughts, brainstorm sessions, and more. Basecamp is visually the best project management software around and my clients love it!

We use TeamworkPM internally. It’s not as pretty as BaseCamp, but I like some of the features it has better such as assigning tasks to multiple people and creating reoccurring tasks to help automate my business.

Pro Tip: Create a Basecamp with some friends when planning an event or trip. It makes it easy to keep the discussion in one place and allows you to fit in a little pleasure with work.

Dropbox

Dropbox is a place to store all of your photos, docs, videos, and files. Any item you add to Dropbox will automatically show up on all your devices as well as the Dropbox website, allowing you to access your files from anywhere. Dropbox also allows you to share your files easily with anyone, allowing for seamless collaboration.

I use Dropbox to share files with my team, with clients, and to transfer files between computers. Instead of saving my files to a folder on my computer, I’ll often save them to a Dropbox folder so I can access them anywhere anytime. This makes living a location independent lifestyle, or just a busy life, much easier.

Pro Tip: It’s easy to get mores space with Dropbox. Make sure to follow all the recommended ways that Dropbox allows you to get more space. My favorite way is to invite people to install Dropbox using your referral code and then give them a reward of some kind. That reward can be a video or document that has a lot of value. If you’re a business owner, you may want to consider having all your staff use Dropbox to share their materials and if you’re going to be doing this anyhow, you might as well have them use your referral link.

2016-03-04_1213Ninja Tip: I’m not going to tell you that there are people out there that can help you increase your storage space for a small fee of say, $5, but … there are.

Cost: Free, but the Business version available for a small fee

Alternatives:

  • Google Drive
  • Box.com
  • OneDrive
  • Sync.com
  • Mega – allows for larger file transfer and storage for free.
